Preprint released: Discovery and improvement of PET degrading enzyme

We have published our research on bbPET0069, a new PET-degrading enzyme derived from soil bacteria, as a preprint. Using 3D modeling and protein engineering, we optimize the enzyme's ability to break down PET into monomers and show that when combined with other enzymes, PET degradation can be significantly accelerated. https://doi.org/10.1101/2024.02.01.578500
